UPDATE: Marley the dog was located on May 25 at 6:20 a.m.
----------------------------------------------------------------
At approximately 8:00 p.m., Halifax Regional Police patrol members responded to the 0-100 block of Stockton Ridge in Bedford, to assist a citizen who was reporting a lost service dog. The citizen’s son has a therapy service dog that is trained to alert when the child is having a medical emergency. The family was outside barbequing and playing with the service dog, until approximately 5:30 p.m. when they noticed the dog was missing. The family yard is not fenced and they believe that the dog may have run off as they are new to the area.
This service dog is very important to the health and safety of this child, Halifax Regional Police are requesting anyone with information or possible sightings of this service dog to contact 902-490-5020.
The service dog is described as a 2 year old female yellow Labrador Retriever named “Marley”. She is not believed to be wearing a collar at this time
