As a precautionary measure, officers with the Explosive Disposal Unit used a counter explosive charge to detonate the suspicious package. The investigation is ongoing to determine the nature of the package.
Akerley Boulevard has been re-opened to traffic. Thank you to everyone for their cooperation in this matter.

Police are currently on scene of a report of a suspicious package at 13 Akerley Boulevard. Westbound lanes of Akerley Boulevard have been closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic between Morris and Mosher Drives. Please use alternate routes to avoid delays. Updates will be provided as they become available. We appreciate your cooperation with this situation.
