Police Investigate Weapons Call/Forcible Confinement

At 9:40 p.m. on December 6, Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons call in the 1600 block of Hollis Street in Halifax. A 19-year-old man reported earlier in the evening that he was forced into a vehicle by what appeared to be at gunpoint, held against his will and assaulted by two males. The victim sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries and did not require medical treatment. The suspects and victim are known to one another.

Police located and arrested the two male suspects, a 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old man. Both men are facing charges and are being held for court.  The suspects are facing the following charges:

  • The 19-year-old man will be charged with pointing a firearm, use of a imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, forcible confinement and assault.
  • The 22-year-old man is facing a charge of forcible confinement. 

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are currently investigating and the investigation is ongoing.
