Police Investigate Impaired Driver and Vehicle Collision Hit & Run

At 4:40 a.m. on January 13, Halifax Regional Police received a report of a motor vehicle collision where a car struck a tree and fire hydrant in the 6100 block of North Street in Halifax. Moments later another caller reported a possible impaired driver operating a gray Honda Civic travelling north bound on Windsor Street.      

At 4:50 a.m. Halifax Regional Police located the suspected vehicle in a parking lot on Kempt Road. Officers located and arrested the female driver. A 21-year-old woman from Halifax will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on a later date. She is facing the following  criminal charges:

- Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle,

- Operation with over 80 mg. of alcohol, 

- Failing to Remain at the Scene and 

- Obstruction.
