High-risk offender arrested GO#19-73178

Update: 35-year-old Joshua James Turner was arrested on May 26 at 2:40 p.m. in Dartmouth without incident after he had escaped from the Jamieson Community Correction Center earlier that morning. Halifax Regional Police would like to thank media and members of the public for their assistance in helping create awareness.

On May 26 at approximately 9 a.m., Halifax Regional Police received information that Joshua James Turner had escaped from the Jamieson Community Correction Center located on Morris Drive, Dartmouth. Mr. Turner is deemed a high-risk offender relating to sexual and violent offences. Mr. Turner is described to police as a white male, 5'10", 150lbs with black hair and black framed thick rim glasses. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with "Bum" in white letters on the back, dark pants and a black baseball cap. He was last observed in the area of Windmill Road by Magazine Hill. Police are currently searching for Mr. Turner but have not yet been able to locate him. If anyone has any information regarding Mr. Turner or they observed anyone fitting his description please do not approach and call 911.
