Late on December 13, 2023, the Halifax Regional Police (HRP) received a report related to a possible home invasion. In accordance with the Police Act, HRP contacted the SiRT which has assumed responsibility for the investigation.

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that speed limits will be reduced from 50 km/h to 40 km/h in the residential area of Herring Cove. The impacted streets are highlighted in the attached map and include the area bounded by Ketch Harbour and Hebridean Drive.

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that the municipal overnight winter parking ban is in effect from December 15, 2023 through March 31, 2024. The overnight winter parking ban is enforced from 1 to 6 a.m. during declared weather events and snow removal operations only.
