The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that due to the presence of a possible blue-green algae bloom, a risk advisory is in effect for Lake Micmac in Dartmouth. Residents are encouraged to avoid swimming in the lake until further notice.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a weapons assault that occurred in Halifax.

On June 28 at 1:35 a.m., Halifax Regional Police received a report of a motor vehicle collision where a white four door sedan struck a fence attached to a residence in the 1400 block of Henry Street, Halifax. At 1:44 a.m., multiple callers reported a motor vehicle collision where a white Nissan Altima struck a fire hydrant, breaking it off at the base, in the 6000 block of Quinpool Road, Halifax.
