District 13 has a population of approximately 24,100 residents and is comprised of suburban residential neighborhoods and small coastal towns and communities.
The district is also home to a number of small coastal communities – including Queensland, Boutiliers Point, Seabright and Hackett’s Cove - famous for their beautiful beaches.
The district features a number of beautiful trails and parks, including St. Margaret’s Bay Rails to Trails and the Bluff Wilderness hiking area.
It is also home to Peggy’s Cove, one of Nova Scotia’s most famous tourist attractions. Peggy’s Cove is a small fishing community and home to Peggy’s Point Lighthouse – perhaps one of the most photographed lighthouses in Canada. Peggy’s Cove is famed for its picturesque landscapes and although it has been designated a preservation area, remains an active fishing community.
District 13 is a popular area for families and includes many amenities including Hatfield Farm, Glen Arbour Golf Course, and the Hammonds Plains Community Centre.
