Overview:
The Point Pleasant Park Advisory Committee advises the Halifax and West Community Council on issues relating to Point Pleasant Park. The mandate of the Committee is to provide public input into the administration and planning for Point Pleasant Park.
Objectives/Functions:
- Advise the Municipality on the management, evolution, and stewardship of the Park;
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of the master plan, the management plan, and the operational plan, to solicit public input, and to communicate plans and decisions to the public about the implementation of the plans;
- Monitor regular Park operations while adhering to ecological management practices;
- Advise on park-related by-laws and regulations; and
- Perform ceremonial functions.
Membership: Ten (10) members
- Seven (7) community members, three (3) of which are “frequent users” of the Park, and one (1) from the immediate neighbourhood
- One (1) Honorary member
- One (1) Area Councillor who is automatically appointed by virtue of their elected office
- The Mayor of Halifax, who is automatically appointed by virtue of their elected office

- Four (4) frequent users of the park
- One (1) from the immediate neighbourhood
Length of Term:
- Two years
