We're launching a new recreation registration platform on April 1, 2025

Summer camp registration will take place on the new registration platform on Monday, April 14, 2025. Available summer camps will become visible on April 1, 2025. Please call the Recreation Registration Line at 902.490.6666 or visit the front desk staff at your local municipal recreation facility with any questions or support inquiries.

  • If you do not have an active facility membership at one of our municipal recreation centres, the Canada Games Centre, Cole Harbour Place, the St. Margaret's Centre or Zatzman Sportsplex, you will need to create a new profile.
  • If you have an active facility membership at one of our municipal recreation centres, the Canada Games Centre, Cole Harbour Place, the St. Margaret's Centre or Zatzman Sportsplex, your profile information has been transitioned to the new platform. 
    • Note: You will need to set up a new password and link your payment information to your new profile if you wish to complete online transactions.
    • Note: The minimum password length is 8 characters and it must contain uppercase, lowercase, a number and a punctuation mark.
  • All facility members will receive this email coming from Halifax Regional Municipality <communication@xplorrecreation.com>:

Recreation programs & services


Until June 30, 2025 you can still access the old system online, in-person or by phone to register or withdraw from spring programs, or to make rental payments. Plus, until March 31, 2025 you can book drop-ins with the old system.

  • Monday, April 14, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. for Summer Inclusion Support requests (in the new registration system)

We offer recreation programs at municipal recreation centres that are owned and operated by the municipality. You can register online by logging in or creating a new account. You can also search for a program or location. 

To register in-person visit your nearest HRM-owned and operated Recreation Centre.

To register by phone call our recreation line at 902-490-6666. See the table below for the hours of operation for the phone line. Should you require assistance outside of the hours noted in the table below please contact your local HRM-owned and operated Recreation Centre.

Did you know?

Advanced, online, activity bookings for the pools at the Sackville Sports Stadium, Captain William Spry Community Centre & Needham Community Centre are no longer required. You can just show up! First come, first serve.
